Rick is a 15 year veteran in the strategic planning and execution of face-to-face marketing programs. Rick has executed trade shows, conventions, meetings and events in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Currently, Rick is responsible for the execution of Novartis Pharmaceuticals’ meeting and events programs. Prior to working at Novartis, Rick was the Exhibit Program Strategy and Relations at the IEEE. He was also managed the corporate events and speaker programs at Alcatel-Lucent, Lucent, Avaya and AT&T. Rick is on the TSEA Board of Directors as the Vice Chair of the Executive Committee and Certified Manager of Exhibits (CME) accreditation committee. Ri
ck has a graduate the Project Management Master’s program at the University of Denver.

When you are managing a project, regardless of the discipline, there are expectations.  These expectations are part of project management standards.  These standards help you in ensuring the project is delivered as promised, with an on time delivery, on budget and most importantly with quality.

Project managers use the standards as created and agreed upon by the Project Management Institute as their guide.  There are many misunderstandings on what true project management is. This webinar is not intended to make you a project manager but to increase the awareness of how proper planning and execution of a project plan will enable the person in the project manager role set the expectations and deliver on what is being promised.
Using personal experiences, everyone will share their challenges, discuss how they have been able to overcome these challenges and learn from each other on approaches take to resolve issues they may currently be facing.

 

Learning Objectives

The goal of the webinar is to have open discussions on the topic of project management and in particular,

1.      Understand key project management terms and their application.

2.      Apply the terms to projects you are working on so as to be able to communicate clearly to your stakeholders.

3.      Discuss challenges in how project management impacts your ability to focus on

a.       Delivering on Scope,

b.      Delivering On Time, and

c.       Delivering on Budget with Quality.
