Mission

The committee’s mission is to:

develop an Internet model for the presentation of all available information on the ethical, human
rights, economic, scientific, cultural, sociological, spiritual/religious, and clinical issues affecting
the transmission of life-threatening perinatal infectious disease in a context that contributes to more
effective prevention of such diseases; and to
supplement this information with committee member reports that clarify the application of featured
data and other information to more effective prevention programs based on respect for the dignity and
value of life.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

making recommendations on the structure of, organization of, and addition of citations
to the IRC/MTCT;

contributing conference reports/data (abstracts, posters, oral presentations, reports,
interviews, etc) and original papers on topics indexed in the IRC/MTCT Table of Contents,, and review HTML files of these documents before they are scheduled to be hypertext-linked to the documents citation;

providing a bibliography and updates on the member’s published MTCT data; and

providing a summery statement and updates on the member’s participation in MTCT prevention
clinical trials and related studies.
